The leader of the street vendors’ organization Fuerza 2000, Federico López, alias “El Fede,” now charges a fee to clowns and street artists in the Historic Center of Puebla.
On the afternoon of Sunday, September 29, one of the clowns who work in the Historic Center of Puebla was threatened with a firearm by “El Fede” when he was performing in a store.
The street artist was hired by one of the managers of the Almacenes Rodríguez store on 11 Norte and 4 Poniente, for the anniversary of the store.
When the clown was inside the store, four men arrived in a white Volkswagen Jetta.
The subjects fired shots and beat the street artist who is part of the clowns who perform in the Historic Center of Puebla.
“El Fede” warned the clown that he entered “his area” and had to pay him to be able to perform in any of the streets that he controls.
According to witnesses, “El Fede” and his companions beat up the clown inside the Almacenes Rodríguez store. After this, the leader of the Fuerza 2000 street vendors group escaped with his companions.
“El Fede” charges a fee to sex workers, street vendors and now clowns in the Historic Center of Puebla.
As if that were not enough, in addition to attacking clowns and other artists in the center, he also demands fees from some established merchants as a form of protection.
During the night of August 21, a control judge released the leader of the Fuerza 2000 street vendors organization, Federico López.
This happened after he won an injunction that ordered the modification of the precautionary measures against him.
