Behind the appearance of a business dedicated to the sale of ice cream and popsicles, authorities in Puebla discovered a property allegedly being used for drug sales in the state capital. The site, located in the Miguel Hidalgo neighborhood, was searched during a joint operation that resulted in the arrest of a woman.
The investigation began following citizen reports and intelligence work carried out by security agencies.
According to the Puebla State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE), the investigation established that narcotics could allegedly have been continuously distributed from the business.
Personnel from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of High-Impact Crimes (FEIDAI), the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the State Preventive Police participated in the search. When authorities inspected the property, they found:
44 packages containing a granular substance with characteristics similar to crystal methamphetamine
and an object with characteristics of a firearm.
Juana Lucía “N” was arrested at the location and subsequently taken before the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine her legal status.
Meanwhile, the business was secured, and the items found were incorporated into the investigation file to determine their possible connection to retail drug trafficking activities.
