Less than a month before Women’s Day, some of the programs that will be carried out to commemorate have been announced, both in the city of Puebla and in some towns in the interior of the state.
Within the framework of this day, presentations, exhibitions, workshops, and other similar events will be held with the aim of remembering this date that is dedicated to the fight for gender equality, women’s rights, and other similar demands.
In this case, these are different activities that will be organized by government institutions and some groups. In addition, it was pointed out that access will be open to the general public and admission will be free.
According to the information revealed by the representatives of Community Culture, the details of these events in which women from different backgrounds will participate can currently be known.

Puebla
This Sunday, March 8, at 4:00 p.m., a cultural day will be held on the Civic Esplanade of the La Margarita Housing Unit; the meeting is promoted by the Creative Seedbed of Drawing and Painting.
During the afternoon, nine paintings made by children and young people from the workshop will be presented; the works portray Mexican women who have contributed significantly to society, each piece seeks to recognize their legacy and bring these stories closer to the public.
In addition to the exhibition, a clothesline will be installed open to participants and attendees; in this space you can place written messages about experiences or situations related to gender injustices.
The day will also include a performative act that will take up the historical origin of 8M, in this case, the representation is inspired by the struggle of women workers in a textile factory. The appointment is at Calle 59 Oriente s/n, INFONAVIT La Margarita, in Heroica Puebla de Zaragoza.
Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez
On Friday, March 6, at 1:00 p.m., the day “Weaving voices: Tree of memory” will be held in the municipality of Yehualtepec; the activity will take place at the San Marcos Tlacoyalco Official General High School.
The address is Calle 9 Sur 4, Segunda Section, San Marcos Tlacoyalco, 75685, in Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez, Puebla. The initiative is also promoted by the Creative Seedbed of Theater, Visual Arts, and Ngigua Language in Yehualtepec and Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez.
The collective work will give shape to a piece entitled “Tree of Memory”, in this work, the roots will represent the Ngigua heritage and the branches the commitment of the youth to build communities of peace and free of violence.
Ixcamilpa de Guerrero
On Sunday, March 8, at 11:00 a.m., a community intervention will be carried out in the Municipal Zócalo of Ixcamilpa de Guerrero, whose address is Calle 5 Poniente #10, C.P. 74770, in Ixcamilpa, in the south of the state of Puebla.
As part of the activity, a large-format butterfly will be made, which will be placed in the Zócalo. On this piece, the public will be able to write phrases of reflection aimed at the community. The work will function as a collective symbol within the framework of 8M.
In addition to the artistic intervention, informative leaflets will be distributed on the meaning of International Women’s Day, which seeks to reinforce the reflective nature of the day of visual expression and dissemination of information in a public space.
