In the last 24 hours, 71 low-intensity exhalations accompanied by water vapor, other volcanic gases, and occasionally light amounts of ash were detected at Popocatépetl Volcano. Additionally, 840 minutes of low-amplitude tremor segments were recorded, of which 623 minutes corresponded to high-frequency tremors and 217 minutes to harmonic tremors.
CECSNSP Opens New Address at Mesón del Cristo. During the morning and at the time of this report, a continuous emission of water vapor and volcanic gases was observed, dispersing southwestward (SW).
The Popocatépetl Volcano Alert Traffic Light is at Yellow Phase 2.
CENAPRED urges people not to attempt to climb the volcano, as explosions occur that throw incandescent fragments, as has been seen recently. It also asks people to respect the 12-kilometer exclusion zone from the crater; being within this zone is unsafe.
