Classes suspended in more than 70 municipalities in Puebla due to Hurricane Erick

The Puebla Public Education Secretariat ordered the suspension of classes in more than 70 municipalities in the Sierra Norte and Serdán Valley for tomorrow, Thursday, June 19, in anticipation of the passage of Hurricane Erick.

Because heavy rains are forecast for much of the state, the SEP stated that the suspension of classes seeks to safeguard the integrity of the educational community in the face of possible landslides, flooding rivers, fallen trees, or damage to rural roads.

The measure will apply to early childhood, preschool, primary, secondary, and high school educational institutions located in the following communities:
