Puebla, with the highest rate of theft from transporters in the country

Puebla, con la tasa de robo a transportistas más alta del país

The state of Puebla ranked first in the nation in the rate of robbery of transporters, according to the Institute for Municipal Management, Administration and Liaison (IGAVIM).

According to the study, conducted from January to October 21 of this year, 577 robberies of transporters were recorded in the state, of which 96.88 percent were violent and 3.12 percent non-violent.

According to their data, the rate of this crime per 100 thousand inhabitants in the state was 8.26, above entities such as the State of Mexico, with 5.24, and San Luis Potosí with 4.67, which occupy second and third place respectively.

On the other hand, it is noted that this crime in Puebla had a decrease of 10.12 percent compared to the 642 cases that were registered in 2023.

The most affected region is Angelópolis, as it concentrates 11.74 percent of the investigation files, followed by the Serdán Valley with 10.61 percent and Tehuacán and Sierra Negra with 5.5 percent.

While the Mixteca Puebla and the Sierra Nororiental did not register any robberies to transporters in the period covered by the analysis.

In the case of the Angelópolis region, the municipality that concentrates the most robberies is San Martín Texmelucan, with 114 cases; however, it had a decrease of 31 percent compared to 2023, when 167 were recorded.

Despite the decrease in this municipality, there were others where they increased, such as Amozoc, with 108 percent more; San Pedro Cholula, with 66.67 percent; and Cuautlancingo, with 29.17 percent.

While in the Serdán Valley there was an increase in Chalchicomula de Sesma, with 28.57 percent; Tecamachalco, with 20 percent; and Quecholac, with 16.67 percent. (MCJ)
