According to the Federal Roads and Bridges of Income and Related Services (CAPUFE), the San Marcos toll plaza in the direction of Mexico City continues to close to circulation due to incident attention
A trailer carrying several tons of sugar ran out of brakes and collided with the collection booths at the booth on the Mexico-Puebla highway, near the San Marcos booth.
Inside the booth, 10A was the person in charge of collecting the toll, and outside an officer from the Auxiliary Corps of the State of Mexico (Cusaem), who were run over. Guard 9B was totally destroyed while 10B and 8B were damaged.
The San José company trailer apparently was speeding, so when it reached the booth it hit the retaining walls and knocked down one of the booths in the toll plaza.
During the incident, two private vehicles, a tractor-trailer, and a National Guard patrol were affected, which 20 people injured, including a minor.
Personnel from Caminos y Puentes Federales (Capufe) and two helicopters from Grupo Relámpagos del Estado de México arrived at the site to transport two injured to the Magdalena de las Salinas Hospital in Mexico City.
Meanwhile, six more of the injured were transferred to nearby hospitals to receive specialized medical care, as they had second and third-degree burns.
Personnel from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico work at the site to initiate the corresponding investigations and the removal of the bodies.
The circulation towards the capital is closed, while towards Chalco there are affectations from kilometer 31.
At least two people were reported to have lost their lives after the incident, and reports indicated that 20 people were injured.
