The municipal government of Puebla, through the Institute of Art and Culture (IMACP), has rolled out a diverse, complimentary cultural agenda for the weekend, offering a wide array of artistic, recreational, and educational activities across the city’s most emblematic venues. Designed for families, residents, and visitors alike, the program highlights Puebla’s vibrant arts scene as part of its ongoing cultural initiatives.
Saturday’s events kick off in the historic downtown area with a collaborative clay-modeling workshop hosted by the Museo Amparo in the Zócalo from 11:00 to 16:00 hours, offering participants a hands-on experience in traditional craft techniques. Later in the afternoon at 15:00 hours, the Teatro de la Ciudad will host the vibrant performance Danzas y trajes regionales de Puebla, showcasing the state’s rich traditional attire and folkloric dance. The evening concludes in the Zócalo with a new edition of Noches Poblanas at 18:00 hours, featuring over twenty professional dancers performing traditional Mexican folk pieces.
Sunday’s lineup features additional highlights, including the Danzares Mexicanos performance by the BUAP Folkloric Ballet at the Complejo Cultural Universitario (CCU) auditorium, alongside the MEXAS vocal concert celebrating contemporary Mexican composers at the Capilla del Arte UDLAP. The weekend wraps up at the Teatro de la Ciudad with a special staging of the world-renowned musical Jesus Christ Superstar. All events are free of charge, encouraging the public to engage deeply with local public spaces, community workshops, and performing arts.
