On the morning of Thursday, December 26, residents of the community of Tlancualpican, located in the municipality of Chiautla, Puebla, found a dismembered body placed on a Christmas nativity scene in the chapel of Cristo de la Piedra Grande. Along with the human remains, a narco-message was found, allegedly signed by a criminal group that issued threats directed at a rival group in the dispute for territorial control.
The discovery was reported by the residents, who alerted local authorities due to the magnitude of the event. For their part, municipal and state security forces, as well as personnel from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Puebla (FGE), moved to the site to cordon off the area and begin the investigations.
The human remains were removed from the site by experts from the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo), who transferred the body, still unidentified, to perform the corresponding autopsy. Authorities said the victim will undergo forensic analysis to determine his identity and collect evidence to help clarify the case.
Regarding the narco-message found next to the remains, local sources indicated that its content included threats against an antagonistic criminal group, although authorities have not disclosed the full details of the text or the names of the groups involved. These types of messages are usually associated with disputes over control of territories between criminal organizations.
For its part, the Puebla Prosecutor’s Office reported that an investigation file was opened to identify those responsible for this violent act and clarify the circumstances that led to the discovery. So far, no arrests related to the case have been reported.
This event has generated consternation among the inhabitants of Tlancualpican, who lamented that a religious and traditional space such as the Christmas nativity scene has been used for an act of violence of this magnitude. Residents expressed concern about the growing insecurity in their region, which, according to local testimonies, has seen an increase in the presence of criminal activities.
Authorities indicated that they will continue investigations in the coming days, while testimonies and evidence are collected at the crime scene. They regretted that this case reflects the persistent problem of violence associated with organized crime in various communities in the state of Puebla, and reiterated their commitment to work to improve security conditions to guarantee residents a better quality of life.
