The Hermanos Serdán Airport, located in the municipality of Huejotzingo, has had at least six flights canceled.
Due to the constant fall of ash from the Popocatépetl volcano, operations at Puebla Airport have been suspended.
The closure of the Hermanos Serdán Airport, located in the municipality of Huejotzingo, began at 7:00 AM to carry out sweeping work on the entire runway, taxiways, and platforms (both commercial and general aviation) due to volcanic ash contamination.
Due to the suspension of operations, Viva Aerobus canceled six flights (three arrivals and three departures), which are:
– Monterrey-Puebla
– Puebla-Monterrey
– Guadalajara-Puebla
– Puebla-Guadalajara
– Cancún-Puebla
– Puebla-Cancún
State Civil Protection expects activities at Puebla Airport to resume at 10:00 AM today after the volcanic ash cleanup.
