Traffic is paralyzed on one of the main arteries that connect Mexico City with Puebla. Since the morning of Tuesday, August 6, a group of ejidatarios has blocked both directions of the Mexico-Puebla highway at kilometer 070+400. This demonstration, which has already lasted more than 30 hours, has generated severe traffic chaos.
The protesters, from the towns of López Rayón and Tlahuapan, have set up banners and tents, demanding the resolution of their demands. They denounce the lack of agreements on the deeds of lands they acquired 50 years ago and that were expropriated for the construction of the highway. Despite an initial dialogue with the Ministry of the Interior, the ejidatarios have not received satisfactory responses and have decided to maintain the blockade until a solution is obtained.

TAPO and trips from Mexico City to Puebla, with delays and problems
The obstruction of the highway has left many motorists stranded for hours, some having to resort to desperate measures such as damaging their vehicles to get around the blockage. The buses that connect Mexico City with Puebla, mainly those that leave from the Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Oriente (TAPO), have also been affected, being forced to modify their routes or cancel their runs.
On Wednesday, August 7, protesters have warned that they will remain in place during the night, allowing only vehicles with medical emergencies to pass. Other drivers must continue to look for alternate routes to avoid the blockage.
On the other hand, Infobae reported that the bus company ADO has informed that, although all the runs to Puebla are announced on its website, the availability of tickets and the punctuality of the services are subject to change due to the blockade. Travelers are advised to contact the terminal ticket offices directly for updated information and plan their trips with caution.
