Audi Mexico will invest one billion euros in Puebla to produce hybrid and electric vehicles

Sergio Salomón, governor of Puebla, said that Audi’s investment in Puebla will generate 500 new jobs at its plant.

The company Audi México will invest one billion euros in its factory in the state of Puebla to begin producing vehicles with e-tron technology, that is, hybrid and electric.

During the announcement of said project, Tarek Mashhour, executive president of the company, indicated that to achieve their objective they will begin with the adaptations to their infrastructure and equipment in terms of electromobility.

Mashhour called for the authorities to train Puebla’s talent in electric mobility issues, such as the creation of software, new technologies, and battery production, because only then will the entity be at the forefront.

The governor of Puebla, Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina, reported that the state will be positioned as one of the places with the greatest economic development.

This, because the investment will generate 500 new direct jobs at the plant, will provide growth opportunities to different business partners, as well as small and medium-sized companies.

Finally, the Secretary of Economy, Ermilo Barrera Novelo, commented that, with this type of investment announcement, it is confirmed that Puebla has all the conditions to be the spearhead of Industry 4.0 and to become an electromobility hub.
