The reopening of Mexico has come at a high price; coronavirus cases and deaths have tripled

Coronavirus cases and deaths in Mexico have tripled since the reopening: in the first week of July the country exceeded 250,000 cases and exceeded 30,000 deaths.

But the health authorities deny that the reopening was rushed and President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has been seen as carefree, almost indifferent to the health risks for Mexicans in the midst of the pandemic.

This is the panorama in Mexico, where the economy is also ill and the crisis is far from over.
